Tamar Valley

Stop and Explore

Explore the Tamar Valley's boutique cool-climate wineries, visiting elegant vineyard restaurants and meeting with the growers and the makers of the region. Pay a visit to Deloraine, a town of artists and farmers that hosts the nation's largest working craft fair.

For an interesting European treat, The town of Grindelwald is inspired by a mountain village from Switzerland of the same name - all the houses have been built in Swiss style, complete with flower-boxes and window shutters. Settled in 1804, two years before Launceston, George Town at the mouth of the Tamar River is one of the oldest European settlements in Australia, and full of fascinating history.
